The city of Toronto is Canada's largest city, with a population of just over four and a half million people. As with any super city, finding affordable housing remains a challenge for many Toronto residents, and a concern for local government. Toronto offers a range of rental options, including apartment complexes, town houses, condominiums and detached home apartments.

Surprisingly, over recent years, Toronto's rental markets have become more affordable than other urban centers in Ontario. However, demand for apartments in Toronto remains high, resulting in a very low percentage of available rental units. As with most urban regions in Ontario, rental prices remain high, with downtown properties and many condominium units affordable only to higher income level families.
